I'm a native of those parts and walked the Peddars Way back in 2000. We walked South to North and reached the McDonalds at the end of the first day before bivying in a small plantation a short distance further along. The McDonalds was still there as I drove past on Monday.
The coasthopper busses run round to Kings Lynn with a change at Hunstanton and there will be busses between there and Swafham. I fear any other connections are going to be similar multi-bus trips.
I did the TMB the year before last in a comfortable old pair of Asolo Fugitives. They were so worn in that the sole finally came loose on one of them on the final day and I chucked them in the bit to save carrying them home. The route is all good tracks even where it goes higher so really does not require
Last year I did 10 days walking in the Atlas including two 4000m summits in the Asolo Matrix Flames that I'd bought to replace the fugitives. That was at the end of September and there was a bit of snow up high.
On neither trip did I wish that I'd taken my Scarpa Mantas.
If you've got comfortable boots that aren't immanently going to fall apart then they'll be fine.
I suppose technically there is a "central site" to report them to. It's called a police station which is where you're meant to report all crimes, but there's no point as they'd not do anything about it.
