Don't suppose there is anyone driving from London or close by... would love to come but train too expensive due to unexpected combination of sickness (nasty bout of glandular fever) causing no pay (and delay in booking ticket, as thought, since going to die no point in booking ticket) and parents coming to visit the weekend after the meet and needing entertaining etc.... Would be willing to pay for part petrol as would probably be cheaper than ticket. Anyone... anyone...? Sigh.... |

Now I know why I rarely venture out of the meets section - Arthur Paddington! That whole rumble is seriously disturbing... Brrr I am sending my therapy bills to that mantroll. Anyway... so it's all arranged then? I can book my rail ticket for the weekend etc and thanks for the gear sale tip Jon... I'm in the market for some woolly wickables :o) |

Another South African... Yay!!!! Hierdie Englise mense is baie lekker, maar hulle is n bikkie mal in die kop... there, now don't say I didn't warn you. Sorry, I'll stop now. I know this isn't languageMagic. You could always invest in a map, Shaun and that way you won't have to resign yourself to the british rail, which is quite good actually if you consider the railway system in SA. Anyway either way it'll be quite nice to meet a fellow South African outdoorsMagic fan :o) |

Talking about freebie... yes I know it was a couple of posts ago... but Jon, do you still have any of the puddings left? Pub food is good but it's a bit scrimpy on the desserts
I'll probably also need a lift from Windermere. There is a train that arrives at 20:41 on friday night from london (John, Pete are you also coming from london?). Will that leave enough time to make it to the pub? Jon your little golf is going to be sorely weighted down, or we will have to get a few people to cart us none fossil fuel burners around.
And now of course the big question everyone has been too timid to ask (except if they did and I missed it) is Richard Gear going to make this meet? |
