Would Mallerstang users recommend them for Scottish winter walking? I know they take a C1 crampon but will they kick steps in snow if necessary? Should I consider something else instead, with my two odd feet?
I have a group of neophyte hillwalkers wanting to do a challenge.
Preferably in the UK, ideally in the Peaks / Lakes, and given a definite target they would probably be up for most things - one of them wanted to do Cairngorm in early January, which is the next time we all have leave.
FWIW I just bought a Wild Country Aspect 2.5 at Cotswold for £129. 2 doors, big enough for two, reasonable porch, stuffs down to the size of a football in a compression sack. Dunno what it weighs but about 2.5kg, methinks. Not massive anyway.
