I understand why people say "why change", "it's all too difficult" "you are overcomplicating stuff" I really do, but let's not stop those who want to discuss and try new ways of doing things.
Lot's of people say they've walked the same way for years and then five minutes later tell you about their recurring problems with their knees, shins, hips, blisters - whatever.
Why not think about the way you do things? It is even more important to think about the things you do everyday.
For now, I'm practising taking shorter strides and thinking about my posture more. I think it does feel different - more relaxed, less stress on my heels and also lower back - but slower.
While that argument seems logical, the fact that our species survived tens of thousands of years without fancy antibiotics is no reason not to take advantage of them now they are available.
Antiobiotics is a great example, because, while extremely useful in the right circumstances, they can be overused and misused when they become the lazy default option...
But I am attracted to the idea of minimal footwear as it seems simple common sense. We have been walking around for thousands of years without fancy shoes and boots.
Is it not harder to maintain a good posture in the wrong shoes?
