yeah, i kopped out, drove to Binsey, done it then went and parked not far from Overwater to do the back o' skiddaw.
Thats not really a kop out, at least you gave it respect by spending time climbing it
You could say I kopped out by making it a linear walk and, catching a taxi to the start and using one at the finish. I'm really interested to see how others did it or would do it
Yeah... Binsey is a bit of an outlier. I had to make a wide loop on two occasions in order to include it in rounds of the Northern Fells. I was passing quite close to it only last Wednesday, but an ascent would have turned a long day into a very long day.
I think it's hard to link with any of Northern Fells, no matter which route you take. Great if you can though, it's a lovely little fell with cracking views
With two routes completed over the Nothern Fells we now welcome the toughest day. This route is a way of including Binsey, 'the odd man out', into the mix of the Skiddaw Range. To achieve this link a 4 mile walk, across the Uldale Valley, must be done to reach the base of Bakestall and the start of the Skiddaw ascent. We knew it would be a tough day with it being over 13 miles and over 5000 feet of ascent and, on top of that we had a 5 hour train journey back home after the walk.
