up in fort william 9th may. was thinking of doing ben nevis via the ledge route and back down the CMD arrete. myself and my walking mate have done the usual grade 1 scrambles - eg tryfan's north ridge. are grades in scotland the same as england and wales? does anyone know if there is much snow left, have read that one of the gullies at the start can hold snow into the summer. do we need a rope, crampons and ice axe ?

sorry for all the questions

cheers james

most research on topical treatments for muscle or joint pain show no difference between placebo and any other product whether drug, homeopathy, herbal or any other 'active ingredient'. the only benefit appearing to be the process of massaging the product into the skin.

short term use of oral anti-inflammatory drugs (such as ibuprofen) is clinically proven. speak to a pharmacist (such as myself!) as they are not safe for everyone.

i live in mr rab VR, best piece of kit i own, i carry a paclite and use it very rarely, paclite is not the cheapest or most durable but if you use it only occasionally it should last for years and is no bother lugging round in your sac, have tried a v.lite non breathable waterproof but putting on over a damp softshell was really nasty
