Have you thought of Cumulus bags.

No experience of what they are like, but have just ordered an Ultralite 350 bag from www.bac-e.com which was the best price I could find.

Seem to have a good range.

I bought a Mountain Equipment duffle (60l I think) for a Nepal trip in 2006.

Great kit.  easily survived 16 days being hauled around by a porter with cords tied around it for his headband.  Put up with a lot of abuse, but barely any marks at all to show for it.

Seems like it will last for years and years.

Bren

I am also a 30" waist and bought size small (despite showing to be 32"), which have been fine and the rest of the fit (thor converts) to be spot on.  Closer fitting than my craghoopers, but good movement feel very comfortable.  However leg length was too long by a couple of inches.
