Petzl warranty is 3 years. It was a known fault with the earlier units, they had an oval shaped wire that would become stressed if flexed to far. Newer units (before the introduction of the RXP) had a circular wire and a flexible joint at the torch end. I think its very unlikely that Petzl (Lyon Equipment) will replace the unit.
Just to add to this never ending debate... During a Paramo training session we were advised not to recommend customers use Merino under Paramo clothing. Paramo suggest a synthetic base layer, as Merino tends to pill the inner liner of the Paramo.
Just a thought. Not proven this through use... Any experience of this would be interesting...
There are quite a few boot manufacturers who use Italy, Scarpa are just one example. I wouldn't worry so much as to where they are made. A few very well known brands use Eastern Europe, however boots that come from the Far East are not of a poor quality. I think really it comes down to who designs the boots, and to what standard they are made....
I'm sorry, i've not had any hands on experience with the boots though.
Hi John, Thanks for the links, i had browsed the internet, i was hoping that i could get something second hand with a higher spec etc... The Taurus is similar to what he's looking for.
