I picked up some cheap vivo trail running shoes a few months back. I've worn them a fair bit but went for my first off road walk in them at the weekend. I was comfortable and  my knees that usually hurt were fine. BUT I could barely do stairs the next day! my calves had clearly had a major workout I guess yiu naturally walk quite differently in this type of shoe.

I got one of the adventure air matresses for £20 from outdoor megastore for a six day walk as I thought it'd be more comfortable than my thermarest. I was quite impressed. I used a thin foam duomat under my body as the weather was really cold and I didn't fancy shivering through the nights. Definitely more comfie than thermarest and for 20 quid when you look at the cost of exped and neoair etc worth a go for a bit more cushioning I think.

Hello

I thought I'd trial some of these from field and trek as they were only £20. To save on postage I got the 10 and the  10 1/2 as I didn't know what size I'd be. They only cost me £18 so if anybody would like them for the £18  + postage (paypal gift) they can have them, if not, I'll send them back.

They seem to have good reviews and should cost considerably more, the pair I'm keeping seem nice and comfy too.

Thanks

Stu
