Well I've ordered one so I can try it at home with some weight in. I might be over the 7 day thing, as i'm in Malaysia at the moment, so won't get to try it until next week. But if it is anything like my old one it should be fine. That has lasted well, it's just a bit heavy, and starting to fall apart.
It did me ok for a two day trip up on Dartmoor last time home. Just camped at Runnage farm, but did a total of abot 15 miles with full kit. Unfortunately not the lightest weight of pack, but i have to take stuff for the doggy too.
Also got a mini trangia coming, so the weight saving with that over the 27, the sack and a smaller fuel bottle (300ml), should be about 2 Kg. less is always going to be better.
Thanks for the replies folks, now to find somewhere that will do a returns if not suitable type thing. I haven't found many places which do unfortunately.
I've been looking for a lighter rucksack than my current 17 yr old Lowe (I can't remember the model, but it's a 55+15) And have been looking at the Nanon 50:60 as a replacement. I know all my kit will fit in the old sack at less than 55 litres. So this seems like a suitable replacement.
Has anyone got one, and what do they think of it. I'm looking at being able to carry about 12-15Kg, and want to know how comfortable it is.
The other alternative was one of the Lightwave Ultrhike 60, or Wildtrek 60s. So any info these would be useful too.
Just though I'd say hullo before I join in on the other threads.
I'm Mark from Devon, I do most of my walking on Dartmoor/Exmoor, and around the Devon countryside, with occasional forays up to the Lakes, Snowdonia, and the Peaks.
I used to do some climbing and Caving, I still do a bit of Mountain Biking too. Just getting back into wild camping, and paring my kit down to a lighter weight.
