I've used the mountain path onto Ben Nevis on several occasions and never found it that boring. There is plenty to keep the mind occupied from the dress attire of the first timers, the runners out for a training run and the views back down into Glen Nevis. It is a long day but the route is obvious, well when the marker cairns are visible as at the moment their buried in snow, The final section needs care especially if there is low cloud and snow cover as there are a couple of gullies ready to trap the unwary. Unfortunately the summit is a bit of a mess.
The arete is far more interesting but a lot harder work with a final climb through boulders.
