THought I'd better give final update on the situatio - Paramo have very kindly replaced the jacket.  Excellent customer service- no quibles and speedy.  So a big thank you to them and whoever it was who told me they had a lifetime guarantee.

Why is it that al lot of outdoors companies e.g. paramo, lightwave etc are so much better than other companies at handling returns and other issues?

But the comment about Arc'teryx stands...did I also mention I like Aston Martins?

No I'm not working for them - I've been made redundant so am spending more time on the internet .  I've also gradually been persuaded to the Paramo camp (but don't think I'm an evangelist)

Now I would happily say anything about Arc'teryx if they wanted to give me some stuff free. Any offers? Anyone?
