Folks, I have it on authority that two people are about to pay their deposits for Winter Skills so that makes four persons.
Surely there have to be a couple more of you interested in attending this?
Sorry to "jolt" you all a few days back - but if you want OMWS2013 to happen then I felt it needed doing and I don't think it unreasonable to set Jan 16th as a cut off date for deposits being received and final numbers attending to be known so that is what is happening. That gives anyone who is as yet undecided two weeks to decide and pay a deposit. As I will be up in Scotland already the week before with the numbers I have already it's looking like this year that at least the winter skills part will be running
So, if you are seriously wanting to see OMWS2013 happen and be a part of it at the prices quoted then please get your deposits in by no later than Wednesday January 16th 2013 and pm me for details of where to pay.
so where are we with OMWS2013. Well, I decided to offer the same course as previous years because I was told that there was interest within OM for this.
Since then, only Mini Mal has paid any deposits and I have had one other booking outwith the forum because yes - due to the lack of commitment from within the forum I have been forced to advertise the course on my own website.
Anyway, that makes only two definites and without at least five persons attending either the winter skills course or the Navigation & Snowholing course neither course will be happening. As regards winter climbing days, a minimum of two people are required for each day to run.
So what should I do? Pull the plug on the whole event now or just leave it and see where we are in by January 16th? I am going to be out of the country between January 18th & March 7th and am not sure yet how comms are going to pan out particularly with regards to emails/ forum notifications. On that note, whilst coming back to the UK to find that OMWS2013 isn't going to run won't present a headache - coming back to find that I need to find additional instructional staff to help me run the course at short notice may well present difficulties meaning that people booking later may well find themselves disappointed.
