I bought a Montane Halo Stretch Jacket a couple of years ago and I love it, it's a great jacket. Recently the zip on one of the side pockets/vents frayed and came away from the stitching on one side. So effectively, even when zipped up the pocket is still open.
It doesn't seem like an easy fix, as I'm guessing the stitching would need to be unpicked in order to stitch a new zip back in place. But the seams are fully taped, so I'm not sure how it could be done. Has anyone had anything similar repaired, or know of a good company that could repair if for not too much?
It has storm flaps, so I won't get soaked with the zip open, but I'd rather be able to close it.
I'm looking to upgrade my craghopper kiwis bought a few years ago for something a bit better. I had my eye on the Montane Terras as a few friends have them and they seem to have great reviews, but they don't have a thigh pocket.
I've become accustomed to stashing an OS map in the thigh pocket of my kiwis, as well as various other bits and pieces, and I'd rather not lose this.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a similar pair around £80 or less with a thigh pocket and well suited for Hiking/Scrambling (and a bit of climbing) in the rainy old UK?
