Thank's folks for the advice. We've bitten the bullet and had a car roof rack fitted, had to be BMW one due to the fit and mini specs, any others would not be safe enough. It had to be bolted on to the roof, so should be safe! We've plumped for the Thule kayak carriers, so we are all fitted out, just need to buy the sea kayaks. Which is another minefield - so many choices, so many styles where to start?? Hard chine, soft chine..............
Staying on topic we are looking to buy our first sea kayaks, but only having a mini it'd be a bit difficult to transport, but, we did see a double kayak with a centre split so it splits in two. Anyone know if you can get single sea kayaks that do the same, or would that be a bespoke build?? Just thought they might be easier to transport via roof rack / trailer.
We tried sea kayaking last year after recommendations from this site and lurved it...back for more in Scotland this year, but because (a) we don't have our own kayaks so have to rent and (b) not qualified on our own yet, we'll have to go with a company and guide. So if anyone knows any companies who guide, preferably around the islands and wild camping would be grateful for any advice
Oooooh I don't like this, all I've got is a full screen of the HH ad and have to scroll down for ages to get to other stuff which is squished up to the RHS and loads of white space down the LHS. All me navigation around the site has gone to pot. Can we have the old web page back please
I get this all the time at work ( ooh look we redesigned our web site) and it irritates the wotsit out of me, if it ain't broke......
