as an iphone junkie , i use the viewranger app , but i find it nails the battery within a few hours if your not careful .. ive bought the mophie juice packs for overnight jollys and these work brilliantly as they put 100% charge back in your phone when its runs out .. i have my 3gs as my gps and 4s as my phone/ ipod .. works a treat and only £20 on fleabay

youll need to sign in with your account to access the routes , then you can d/l them on the website and sync them with your phone .. if you email the staff at viewranger they are very helpfull and will probably mail you a link of "how to" specific to your needs .. hope this helps

the clock and bus station is a short walk from the train station maybe 5-10 mins..

Cant help you with bus times as its been 10 years since i used to live there!! it could prove quite a bus journey tho

Thanks guy , was the way I was thinking also , decided I think that I'll start at wasdale and head up yewbarrow and work my way round dropping off to blacksail if needbe or heading straight for styhead tarn... Can either drop back down to the car if it was a rough night or head up and over to scafell to finish if it's all going to plan !
