i think ill keep a look out for something in Event to pop up in sale, quite like the look of the omm cyther and the rab maverick looks a nice jacket also.
Im not looking for the holy grail per say i understand eventually nothing is going to keep you compltly dry i just think if the difference between a jacket ( my mica) that only keeps me dry for an hour in light showers to a jacket that keeps me dry for maybe 4 times that length of time is a few 100grams in weight then i might aswell just take a heavier jacket for every situation and be done with it, given how inclement the weather is in this country i feel i would just end up taking the better waterproof all the time any way.
I do like the idea of a poncho but given how windy it was last saturday when i was out i do not think i would trust it to not blow away sadly.
Joechoppen sadly the jacket is to big for me with it being a large, as i take a medium.
I guess at the end of it all im a little dissapointed that a jacket will wet out in that short of time, if thats the case it just seems pointless taking it all toghether really; if it only works in a light shower it would probally be easier to just wear nothing and dry faster when it stops.
its not really a durability question i usually only get out about 10 times a year if that, with working odd shifts, i guess its hard to destinguish between wetting out and leaking, however, the whole top of my shoulders and arms where quite wet. I guess my question would be then whats a better option i would rather a better performing jacket than one that only serves for light showers.
I will jump in the shower with it on mind that seems a good idea.
So for the third time in a row i have finally decided to stop giving my marmot mica the benefit of the doubt and start looking into something else as it wets out after only a couple of hours of rain ( it is definetly not sweat) it does not need re-proofing either as its had very very little use.
So do i bite the bullet and go for something much heavier, my friend recently got a karrimor event jacket for £99 which kept him bone dry for over 6 hours walking in heavy rain the other day or are there other smock/light weight jackets akin to the mica that actually perform well, i do not want to be stuck in a situation needing one jacket for light showers in summer and another when it looks likes its going to be raining heavily.
Any suggestions, i quite like the look of the omm cyther smock? or even better any one selling something they dont use any more.
great tent, just add a bigger inner later on if you want.
i also have the zephyros 2 which i take when going with my girlfriend, 2 rucksacks and boots fit in the porch with enough room to still use the stove easily, well i managed it any way.
