I think for now I'm staying close to home, I'll give the West Highland Way a bash. If all goes well I hope to trek around the south of France next year for 2 or 3 weeks.

I live and work in Edinburgh, so the West Highland Way seems like a good place to start, I could take on a few Munros on route as well. Hoping to finish with an ascent of Ben Nevis.

At the minute I have a 35l sack into which I pack :
Waterproof Trousers
Waterproof/windproof Jacket
Spare Windproof Top
First Aid Kit
Survival Bag
Brew Kit
2-3l of water
Compact Binoculars
GPS
Map and Compass
Spare Gloves
Headband Torch
Chocolate

What do you think is this to much?
