Been looking at getting the train up to the Lakes, Peak, Scotland etc. but it seems prohibitively expensive. I could maybe fly to the Alps for about the same money! ...but I've heard people talk about cheap train fares, yet despite being flexible on dates and looking well in advance (I'm looking for July) I can't seem to find any deals. Any tips? Good websites etc.? Also is Dartmoor accessible via public transport from the SE?

Finally got to use my new lite in a freezing Langdale. Carried it all day ad barely noticed it. Pitched quickly with no problems. The pegs are decent quality, nice smooth finish, no weight. The little end poles fold neatly and live with the main pole for me. All materials, stitching, finishing, etc. appeared top quality to me.

No condensation issues despite the weather.

Bit of ice and frost on the outside, nothing inside.

All in all, very pleased indeed.

In a week or so I'm up to the Lakes and plan to try it out then. Will update after that!
