The Swiss manage this very easily. You ONLY get a government subsidy IF you have an integrated timetable.

The reality is - a cable car ran an extra service. A bus was approaching and the cable car operator asked it to wait which it did. This bus was consequently delayed and the driver radioed for the connecting bus (run by a different company) to wait. The bus did wait and we got back an hour earlier than expected. This was customer service.

Keep tabs on the snow conditions. This winter has produced lots of snow in the alps and plenty MAY be left in July.
