Extreme ironists have only got until the end of April to get their
entries in for the press- stigious (sorry) Rowenta Trophy. The
web-based competition, run by the Extreme Ironing Bureau, challenges
extreme ironists to provide photographic evidence of ironing under
extreme conditions.
Steam, the sport's founder, said: 'We've already had a great
response, but there's still some time left, so I'm looking forward to
seeing more pictures of people ironing in bizarre, humorous and
extreme places.
'This year we've seen a number of new extreme ironing sites set up
around the world. including The Netherlands, Iceland and Australia,
so I think we'll have some great international entries.'
The best three pictures demonstrating ironing under extreme
conditions will feature in a book about the sport due out in October
this year. Up for it ironists should grab themselves a photographer
and take to the mountains, rivers, lakes, pistes and streets in
search of the definitive press.

Ironing web site.
Warning
OUTDOORSmagic would like to stress that Extreme Ironing is a
potentially hazardous activity and suggest the use of heat resistant
board covers. Always follow care instructions on ironed garments and
don't blame us if it all goes horribly wrong and you end up with
holes in your pajamas...
