Many rain showers ago, in the misty reaches of April 2007, gear manufacturers Berghaus offered a free pair of hiking boots to a new member of OUTDOORSmagic. The prize up for grabs was a pair of Pro Rush Mids, which are part of Berghaus's latest range of outdoor footwear, and they're worth £90 - well worth having for the summer's fell walking.
The Mid Rush Pros - according to Berghaus - are "all terrain boots" with "a technology balance that
enables agility and performance". They weigh in at 468g for a size 8 and include features such as an Ortholite sockliner, Gore-Tex XCR membrane, and Berghaus's own Opti-Stud system, new this season. They're also available in a women's version.
Between Berghaus and ourselves we've been a little tardy at awarding the prize, what with having so many hills to climb and boots to review in the meantime. Still, better late than never, and all that.
