Hunka Burnin' Love...

Gear news in association with
eVent Fabrics

Lurking on the Alpkit stand at the Outdoors Show at the NEC was a very special pink bivi bag, actually a prototype of the new Hunka Bivi which is due out imminently.

We have one here and the good news for anyone with modest tendencies is that the production Hunka - as you can see from the pic - is a much more discrete shade of blackest black.

We're still waiting for full details - on here as soon as we have them - but we can tell you that the Hunka weighs 386 grammes including a neat integral mesh stuff pocket, is around pint glass size and features a simple drawstring hood closure.

There's no zip or Velcro closure, so it's more of a waterproof sleeping bag cover than a full-on 'zip yourself inside and hide from the rain' jobby. It's not dissimilar to Rab's Survival Zone in that respect, though it's around 30 grammes lighter.

Anyway, more details soon, but it's a logical addition to Alpkit's range of sleeping bags and mats, giving them a full sleeping system and has nice, low-key writing down the side too...
