BMC Addresses Nation For Christmas

The Queen had a bit of competition for the Christmas viewing figures - if you're a climber and walker that is - with the BMC's CEO Dave Turnbull addressing the outdoors nation at 3 pm on Christmas Day.

Filmed by multi-award winning cameraman Alastair Lee, the five-minute broadcast gives a quick overview of the work of the organisation over the last year and focusses on issues for the future, notably a static number of members over the past few years while running costs continue to climb.

So, if you ever wondered what exactly the British Mountaineering Council actually does, here's Mr Turnbull and his dog to tell you...

Much more about the BMC at www.thebmc.co.uk where you can also find out about their new 50 per-cent off membership direct debit offer making individual membership just £14.75 a year.

Coming soon: BMC CEO Dave Turnbull and his canine companion invite Hello! Magazine into their beautiful offices and talk openly about their relationship with their members and the challenges before them.

Joking aside, it's good to see the BMC making a positive effort to explain what they're about and if you've thought about joining, the new membership offer makes a whole lot of sense.
