Peak District Walking Now On!

A quick last minute heads up for the 2008 Peak District Walking Festival which kicks off on Saturday 19 April and runs through until 27 April.

Based, you'll be astonished to learn, in the Derbyshire Peak District, the Festival consists of a series of walks designed to give you a slightly differenct perspective on the environment of the area.

Local experts will be leading guided walks with themes like food and drink, the supernatural, heritage and the geology of the area. There are also evening events including talks, presentations and entertainment.

Walks start from various different Peak towns including Glossop, Edale, Castleton, Hayfield and so on. Most are free, but you may need to pre-book a place. You can find the full programme here at www.visitpeakdistrict.com.
