Outdoors Journo Lands Award

Gorgeous, pouting, but oddly-named redhead Maria del Carmen Clegg of Trail magazine, has won a prestigious journalism award, OUTDOORSmagic can reveal.

Clegg mug shot - her natual surroundings...
Maria, who joined the magazine last year, was named Periodicals Training Council New Consumer Specialist Journalist of the Year beating off fierce competition from eight other young journalists including her colleague Ben Winston.

At a lavish ceremony at London's Grosvenor House last Friday, the judges - clearly terrified of the legendarily volatile red-head temperament - praised her all round ability as they handed her the title.

Trail readers may recall an atmospheric interview with Pete of the legendary Pete's Eats climbing caff in Llanberis, which was one of the pieces which impressed the judging panel. We say, well done Maria.

Note: Maria del Carmen Clegg has no formal connection with the OUTDOORSmagic web site.

Would she like a job? We could do with an editor with 'all round ability'.
