Lowe Alpine has completely redesigned its web site at www.lowealpine.com
with more detailed information about their products and a new look to
boot plus the obligatory, but skippable Flash intro.

First impressions are positive with the product section now
searchable by specific or general activities as well as more
conventionally by actual category of clothing. One big improvement is
that you can now check out say, all the the waterproof shell jackets
in the Lowe range in one place.
On the old site clothing and packs were categorised under a spread
of sub-categories, so you had to guess at whether what you were
looking for fell under 'Sad Bumbly Rambler Stuff or 'Insane High
Altitude Loony Kit'. Now it's all there in one place, which is
quicker and less embarassing.
You can still search by category if you choose, or select a
specific activity such as 'mountain biking' or 'multi-day
backpacking'. No mention of ballet though, or 'advanced hut
festering'.
The other big advance is that you can select a UK option from the
main intro page, which means the gear you see is the stuff which is
actually available in the UK whereas previously the choice was
between 'US' and 'International' with a load of products on the site
which weren't actually imported over here. You can also track down
your nearest Lowe retailer.
There's also a neat new 'news' section complete with Lowe-related
news and a focus on the new Dryflo Zone technology.
New Brochure Too
Finally, if you don't have internet access, or more likely the
boss keeps looking over your shoulder, Lowe also has a new Spring
2002 consumer brochure with highlights from their current range. Call
them on 01539 740840 for more information.
