Kinder - OUTDOORSmagic's local Peak District stunner - now has is
own commemorative book.

'Kinder Scout - Portrait of a Mountain' has been published by
Derbyshire Country Council to coincide with the 70th anniversary of
the Kinder Trespass this year. Not only does it apparently tell the
story of the trespass, but is also a profile of the hill / mountain,
with details on geology, natural history use and management.
There's also a selection of stunning photos of the area through
all four seasons. Apparently the idea for the book came from a photo,
graphic exhibition at New Mills Heritage Center, which were part of
the Peak Park's 50th Anniversary Celebrations.
We say 'apparently' above because we haven't seen the book
ourselves yet, however a trusted source tells us that it's stunning.
Price for the paperback is £12.99 with 50 pence of the cover
price going to the National Trust, which manages the area.
You should be able to find it at, erm, book shops, Derbyshire
Libraries and countryside centers. You can also source
it online from distributors Cordee.
