We're Off To The Show ...

Gear news in association with
eVent Fabrics

Hurrah, we're off to sunny Harrogate on the Costa del Yorkshire Norte for the annual outdoors trade show.

What it's really all about... Show time :-) with Mr Buff
The bad news is that as a result, the site will be a little quieter than normal on Monday and Tuesday, the good news is that we'll be getting drunk, sorry, we'll be bringing you the scoop on all the new gear and clothing for 2003 plus anything else we find out.

Of course, being the news-driven dynamo of a web site that we are, we've already told you about quite a bit of new kit over the past few months, including scoops from Berghaus and The North Face and including the first UK test of the new Paclite 3 fabric for spring 2003, but they'll be a load more besides and we'll be bringing you pics and information on the best of it later in the week.

We're expecting to see a lot of ultralight kit based on the new Paclite fabric, but we also reckon on a soft shell explosion and a lot of beige-coloured travel gear. Don't worry, everyone has it and we'll ignore it as ever...

Joking aside there's always some interesting smaller companies around with innovative new ideas and we'll be doing our best to root them out and tell you all about them. Just drop by the site later in the week for the full monty.

On top of the gear news, Go Outdoors - the industry trade body - is launching a new 'Go Walking' campaign with a ridiculous logo aimed at getting more people out there walking (and coincidentally buying outdoors clothing, boots, packs etc. Plus the Outdoors Retailer of the Year competition gets decided.

Try not to pine, we'll be back on Wednesday with a couple of updates before then if we can get out of the bar...
