'Chinese Soldiers' Shoot At Climbers In Nepal

Overseas news in association with
Inghams

An alarming story on the Outside Magazine web site where two American mountaineer climbing in a border region of Nepal say they were shot at by Chinese soldiers.

The climbers were around three days walk from Namche and eight miles from the border with China when the incident took place while they were walking in to attempt 24,114-foot Nangpa Gossum, the highest of the new peaks opened up by the Nepalese government in an attempt to lure back climbers wary of the Maoist insurrection.

Full story here on the Outside web site.
