Fancy a crack at the 15 Welsh 3000s in one day? Well now's your
chance because the next OUTDOORSmagic Meet-Up on the weekend of
29-31 August is a re-match with the one-day epic that well and
truly kicked our butt last year.
What Is It?
In short it's a total classic and tough with it. The idea is to
start on Snowdon summit before traversing Crib Goch, then the entire
Glydderau range before heading up and along the length of the
Carneddau ticking every 3000-foot mountain on the way.
The distance is 'only' 24 miles, but the relentless ascent and
descent makes it a real challenge, so you'll need to be fit and
determined...
How Are We Going to Do It?
Like all OM Meet-Ups, any OM member is welcome to come along, all
we ask is that you're friendly and maybe amenable to the odd pint in
the evening. As ever we're meeting as a group of friends so you're
responsible for your own safety.
You don't have to try the Welsh 3000s either - you can come along
and do your own thing, or if you're feeling generous, support those
of us who are daft enough to drag outselves round the thing.
Logistics
We're provisionally going to stay at the Dol Garn campsite off the
A5 near Capel Curig, but that's subject to discussion and
confirmation.
You'll need to bring your own clothing, tent, supplies etc.
As far as the route goes, whether we bivvy on Snowdon or just
start early and what we arrange in terms of support, see the forum
thread below...
