Ooops, We Need Another Bothy...

If you were counting on a spot of bothying in the Cairngorms over the festive season, you might want to cross Bob Scott's bothy off your list.

According to the BBC and OM member Mark Fraser, the hut - on the Mar Lodge Estate near Braemar - has burned down. The BBC reports that the occupants left a fire unattended and returned to find everything toasted nicely.

BBC story here. Thanks to Mark Frasier for the info.

Just in case anyone was planning on visiting Bob Scott's bothy (southern Cairngorms) I wouldn't bother. Report on the radio this morning, it's been burned down again. I'll post a link to the story when it appears in the local rag.
