Fancy a free holiday this Easter? Got an outdoors-mad family
including at least one teenager? Well, a reality TV company is
looking for just such a family to take part in an ITV1 programme
called 'Holiday Showdown'.
The nice people at RDF Media, the makers of 'Wife Swap' and
'Faking It' will pay for you to go off to your 'favourite holiday
destination' and basically whoop it up. The catch, of course, is that
you get to take another, erm, disparate family along with you, then
you get to share in their 'dream holiday'.

This could be you!

Or, in the words of RDF Media's Laura Jackson:
'In each episode we carefully select two families and whisk them
away to their favourite holiday destination where they live together
and negotiate their holiday plans. Both families must convince the
other that theirs is the better holiday.
'We are currently looking for families who are free to go on
holiday this Easter, are really keen on hiking and outdoors pursuits,
have big personalities and at least one child in the family who is a
teenager.'
I'm proud to say that OM members aren't taken in by this cruel
ruse, which could lead to say, a week trekking in Nepal in company
with a bunch of miserable couch potatoes being followed by a week of
lying motionless on a beach. See this
forum thread for some entertaining OM reactions...
You have been warned, but if you would like to embrace TV stardom
and, improbably, have teenage offspring who like the outdoors, just
e-mail Laura Jackson
at RDF.
