Scottish-based WL Gore has been voted the best UK company to work
for in a Sunday Times commissioned survey.

The company scored top three rankings in responses to over 20 of
the 65 questions - winning eight categories outright and also
won The Castle Award sponsored by the DTI for equal opportunity in
the workplace. WL Gore has two factories in Livingstone near
Edinburgh and one in Dundee.
Not surprisingly, the British arm of the famous Gore-Tex operation
is pretty chuffed: 'This is a fantastic achievement for the company
and reflects the values that we strive to uphold every day of the
working year," said Ann Gillies Human Resource Leader. 'Gore
has an unusual management style - we are a group of associates
- and it is wonderful that the survey demonstrates how
successful this approach can be.'
Gore has two factories in Livingstone near Glasgow and one in
Dundee. As well as churning out acres of Gore-Tex fabric every year,
the company also produces other products including the wind-sacks for
bagpipes. And not a lot of people know that...
