Tracklogs has extended its list of supported GPS units to include
all the Magellan recreational range and the latest USB-driven devices
from Garmin.
Existing version two users can download the upgraded software for
free from the TrackLogs web site.
The move is a response to the ever increasing number of GPS units
coming onto the market over the past few months. These include new
sports specific devices like the Garmin Forerunner, which is aimed at
runners, and the impressively compact wrist-mounting ForeTrex.
Magellan's Sportrak range is also looking strong and is now fully
supported by the TrackLogs digital mapping software.
'The use of native USB on a recreational GPS was long overdue,'
says Andy Shelley of TrackLogs support. 'The immense detail generated
by route planning on 1:25,000 TrackLogs means hundreds of track
points making fast data transfer a real requirement.'
As we mentioned above, users of TrackLogs version two products can
download the Magellan-aware software as a free update. Users of the
older version one software will need to upgrade their existing
software to version two. See this
page for more information.
