An interesting new one from Paramo this, it's a baselayer top
that's actually reversible to give a choice of two levels of
cooling.
The Parameta T fabric, like many baselayers out there has two
faces - the difference with the Paramo version is that you can wear
it either way round. The 'smooth' side of the fabric, which
unsurpisingly is smooth in texture, is claimed to 'reduce pooling of
perspiration to eliminate cold spots after exercise' - presumably the
extra surface area wicks more effectively.
Meanwhile, the other 'honeycomb' face, it says here, 'provides
dry comfort in cooler conditions. presumably because the honeycomb
pattern traps more air close to the skin, upping insulation
values.
The Cambia Tshirt is available in both men's and women's versions
and as a long-sleeved unisex model, is mildly stretchy, weighs around
133 grammes and costs £25. But does it work? The good news is
that we have one here, so we'll be putting it to the test over the
next few weeks and getting back to you with our verdict.
Meanwhile, for more information about Paramo's directional
clothing system, see their web
site.
