Should Have Gone To Specsavers?

Gear news in association with

We didn't actually know this until the other day, but The North Face has launched TNF Eyequipment in the UK.

There are four different categories in the range:

Expedition Tech, High-end 'Summit' glacier type glasses with side shields to stop excess light and using stuff like titanium frames, lightweight mineral glass and vents to reduce fogging. Lenses are very dark for use at high altitude where there's a huge amount of potentially dangerous UV bouncing around the glaciers.

Flight Series Like the Flite clothing, the 'Adrenaline' glasses are aimed at fast movers like runners and mountain bikers. They get ultralightweight frames, adjustable nose pieces for a good fit, wrap-around polycarbonate lenses which can be changed quickly and easily with a variety of colours available.

Snowsports Goggles mainly to you and me, they have cunning vents and, like most goggles, claim to eliminate fogging with cunning vents channeling air across the inside of the lens.

Exploration Series Casual fashion thingees for shallow people ;-) But they do look nice.

Apparently the TNF Eyequipment is available from selected opticians and specialist outdoor stores. You can see the full range on the TNF web site at www.thenorthface.com. UK stockists seem a bit thin on the ground though.
