A week ago we asked for suggestions of categories for the first
OUTDOORSmagic Annual Awards.
We
had some great ideas, and some not so great ones too, and also some
pretty dreadful and completely useless thoughts that we disregarded
out of hand. In the end we were limited by common sense and
practicality - no-one really wants to spend two hours voting in 756
categories and choosing 'best green women's specific wicking liner
sock of the year'.
So, without further ado, here are the categories we've selected
from a list of thousands. What we're planning to do now is choose
four nominees in each area before we throw the whole thing open to a
public vote and hand the winners a, ahem, prestigious OM trophy.
And the categories are:

Best Boot Brand
Best Tent Brand
Best Pack Brand
Best Online Outdoors Retailer
Best Specialist Outdoors Shop Or Chain
Best Outdoors Cafe
Best Campsite
Best New Outdoors Product Of The Year
Favourite OM British outdoors destination
Favourite OM international outdoors destination
So, all we're asking you to do now is use the forum thread below
to nominate your faves in some or all of the categories. We'll add a
few deserving cases ourselves then in a week's time, voting will
begin....
