There's new kit and a new web site for the UK's largest outdoor
clothing brand, Regatta.
The Manchester-based mass market outfit has completely re-designed
its site with a new style plus several new features to make it easier
to use. Product Zoom lets browsers zoom in on an area of the
garment to view specific features and style details.
You can also view products in all the many lovely colours
available and a postcode stockist search means you should be able to
find a Regatta retailer near you with minimal hassle. The web site is
at: www.regatta.com
New Stuff For Later this Year
Coincidentally, we also had a sneak look at the new stuff from
Regatt due out later this year. The brand may not have the cudos
value of top-end technical labels, but it's always offered excellent
value for money and surprisingly good performance too.
Marella Jacket
The Marella is an Isotex 8000 waterproof breathable shell jacket
priced at £80 no less and complete with waterproof zips. Thatr's
vaguely outrageous and looks like an excellent basic waterproof with
a bit of added va-va-voom.
Format Jacket
Soft shell, from Regatta? Yep, the new Format jacket is a
Schoeller-type jacket with a decent degree of wind and water
resistance combined with good breathability plus a fleecy liner for
added warmth in cold conditions. A bargain at £60?
Baselayers are Back
Returning to the range after Regatta ditched their super value for
money baselayer kit last year - it even won a best buy choice from
TGO's Chris Townsend - is a range of technical baselayers at great
prices.
Using bi-polar, hign-wicking polyester fabrics, prices range from
£12.50 for a short-sleeved tee up to £16 for a long-sleeved
zip-neck. If they're as good as the last Regatta baselayers, that's a
bargain for sure.
And Polartec Windbloc Fleece
Following on from the Polartec 100, 200 and 300-weight fleeces in
its current range, Regatta has a Polartec Windbloc, windproof fleece
jacket lined up for later this year. It's called the Reflex
and it looks nice and will retail for £85.
Footwear
Following on from tthe launch of its footwear range some time
about now are two new waterproof boots and a waterproof shoe for next
winter. The boots, this one's called the Outcrop retail for
£75 in men's and women's versions and have Isotex 5000 liners to
keep the water out. Shoes are £60.
Early wearings so far have been impressive and details like the
lace hooks are superb, partlcularly at the price.
Also new in the footwear range are a whole range of kiddies boots
and shoes to match the adult range. Very cute...
And that's it for now.
