He's back! Just in case you haven't heard, the 'naked rambler' who
walked from Lands End to John O'Groats in 2003/04 is now planning to
repeat the trek with his girlfriendsays the BBC.
Stephen Gough, was arrested around 14 times on his last tramp
along the length of Britain, however he reckons that if he manages to
avoid arrest, the walk should take him around two months.
He's apparently going to be accompanied by his girlfriend Melanie
Roberts and a librarian from Kent, who, the BBC says 'does not want
to be named' - obviously a shy retiring type then.
Gough reportedly told the BBC that he believes attitudes to nudity
have moved on since his last walk, but admitted that he, and his
companions could still be arrested. As you may recall, the whole
point of the original walk was to celebrate the naked form and
highlight society's paranoia about our bodies.
Gough was also voted the OUTDOORSmagic Outdoors Personality of
2004 by OM readers.
So there you go. If you bump into three naked walkers this summer,
you'll know what's going on...
