Hinkes Cake Scoop!

Overseas news in association with
Inghams

Remember we told you about Hinkesy's special celebration cake complete with models of all 14 8,000ers? Come on, it was only this morning, get with the programme...

It was made for him by staff at the British embassy in Kathmandu to celebrate his momentous Challenge 8,000 success and now, here in fact, we have a picture of the cake and the reception, just click on the image for the full-sized photo. Nice cake huh, but probably not cartographically accurate we're guessing....

Rumours that Alan managed to eat only 13 of the 14 mountains on the cake have been officially denied. 'We know Alan well and can see no reason why he should leave any part of the cake unconsumed,' commented a Berghaus spokesperson. 'This really is the icing on the cake...' [actually we made that up]
