Get Your Welsh Mountain Air Here!!!

Roll up! Roll up! Buy your Welsh mountain air on the interweb...

Yep, for only 24 of your English pounds, you can now buy a bottled sample of air from Snowdonia or the Brecon Beacons without moving from your computer. Just head over to www.walesinabottle.com where John Gronow will happily take you money.

In return you get a neat little bottle full of Welsh air in a rather lavish looking presentation box plus a certificate of authenticity. You can also custom order 'specialised product' with the site boasting 'Whatever your request, from the ordinary to the bizarre we will quote for your personalised product.'

Not that ordering air in a bottle is bizarre enough anyway...

Speaking to the BBC, Mr Gronow said:

"I am offering a genuine service for people who want something of Wales that reminds them of their childhood or their homeland. It is the genuine article from the green, green grass of home."

The business idea is backed by Prime Cymru, an agency formed in 2001 after the Prince of Wales mooted the idea of a support agency was needed for entrepreneurs aged over 50.

So there you go. Next in line, air from different mountains, crags or particular routes anyone?

Thanks to OMer Eric Davies who was clearly feeling homesick...

The Brecon Beacons may be compact, but this circular route up the highest peak in south Wales makes for a great wild mountain day particularly in winter.
