TNF Nuptse Limited Edition Launched

Gear news in association with
eVent Fabrics

What with it being almost winter, The Nortth Face has turned its attention to their iconic Nuptse down jacket with the introduction of a new Nuptse Hotline along with a limited edition version of the jacket the Quantum Nuptse.

Nuptse Hotline

Not a heated version of the Nuptse or even one with extra down, the hotline is actually what it sounds like, a special phoneline to help customers locate supplies of the jacket in the run-up to Christmas.

In the words of Keith Byrne, TNF's adventure race-obsessed marketing supremo:

"In the run up to Christmas, we are besieged by calls from people wanting to buy a Nuptse Jacket or Vest as a present but who don't know where to get one locally. Outdoor athletes have been relying on the Nuptse for years to keep them warm in the harshest conditions and we are determined not to let anyone go cold!"

And the number to call? 01539 790300

Limited Edition Quantum Nuptse

And while you're on the phone, you can also enquire into the whereabouts of the new Limited Edition Quantum Nuptse - below. It's an all round upgrade on the standard jacket and there will be just 585 of them in the UK and Ireland.

Price is £185 compared to £145 for the standard Nuptse, but for that you get a number of performance improvements.

The shell is 15-dernier rip-stop Quantum Pertex for maximum weight savings and the jacket uses 900 fill power down, the highest volume currently available. That compares to 700 fill power down in the standard jacket. The down comes from a limited number of Hungarian geese and is 99 per-cent pure.

It all adds up to a jacket that weighs just 623 grammes for a men's medium and is highly compressible to boot.

The Quantum Nuptse is available only from a limited number of UK stores, namely Cotswold, Ellis Brigham, Snow and Rock, plus Wildtrak in Newcastle and Great Outdoors in Dublin. You'll also be able to find it in the The North Face stores in Manchester and London. Or of course, you could just call the Nuptse Hotline...
