If you're a lass and somewhat put off by blokeish behaviour in the
mountains or maybe you just find the idea of learning new skills in a
supportive, fun, all-female environment attractive, then you need to
tune into the new updated
Chicks Unleashed web site.
Founded by climbing chick and professional instructor Rosie
Goolden back in 2003, the company specialises in courses and
events designed by women for women and led by Britain's top female
professional instructors.
'Chicks Unleashed.' says Rosie. 'Brings together women of all
abilities and experience who share a passion for the mountains and
would like to further their walking, mountaineering or climbing in an
all-female environment.'
You can tell it works as well with loads of repeat bookings plus a
continual wave of new interest year after year.
Main Chick Events
For 2006, the two main seminar events are back:the Winter
Mountain Seminar which runs from 13-19 February based at
Kinlochleven's Ice Factor and includes instruction at levels from
basic winter skills up to specialist snow and ice climbing.
Then there's the innovative Journey
Through Scotland moving through Scotland trailing climbing
and mountaineering clinics in its wake between 20 and 28 May.
Finally, new for 2006 is the Norway
Icefest climbing trip to, doh, Norway in January, which looks
like a fantastic way to get into proper steep waterfall ice.
Damn, I wish I was a gurl :-(
Lots more besides including new social events and you can find out all about it and book online
