Christmas Cracker: Montane Jetstream

Gear news in association with
eVent Fabrics

We've told you about the Montane Jetstream before, but trust us, it's worth repeating, and it would be an ideal present for the fast-moving outdoors person in your life.

The Jetstream's a super lightweight windproof jacket made from Pertex Quantum with Shield Techology fabric, which is totally windproof, decently breathable but, most importantly, as light and small packing as a very light and very compact thing. Shield technology is reckoned to make it tougher too.

It's a close-fitting fella with articulated arms, an active cut with drop tail, 360-degree reflective dots for night time safety and a high-cut collar.

The bit we really like though is that it fits into a neat little arm pouch that you can wear round your bicep on those days when you're not quite sure if you're going to need a windproof or not and, because it's so small and so light, you barely know that it's there until you need it.

Weight complete with stuff sac is just 97 grammes and the jacket, on its own, is just 77 grammes and, trust us, that's light.

How much for the ultimate in lightweight windproof protection? Around £60.
