The Return Of Richard Gear

Gear news in association with
eVent Fabrics

Richard Gear, OUTDOORSmagic's strangely random question and answer - or as he prefers 'gear query' - guy is back from the wilderness.

Our Richard has been shrouded in a haze of existential kit contemplation for a few weeks, but we've roused him from his philosophical musings to return to what he does best, answering your kit questions.

His latest answers include: is 55-litres enough for Picos backpacking? Will the sleeves on an ME Firefly cover my hands? And can I use screw-top gas canisters in the Pyrenees? Hint to the right...

The good news is that from now on, Tuesday is Richard Gear day, except for this week when it's Thursday, and he'll be answering three of your genuine questions every week.

Unfortunately he's too busy to respond to every question asked, however the OUTDOORSmagic forum's Gear Section is a great way of accessing the collective wisdom of fellow OM members, so it's always worth asking there.

Plus for specific gear reviews by both OM staff and OM members, see the Reviews Section of the site.

This is just the first of a few changes you'll see on OM over the next couple of weeks. We're aiming to bring a bit more structure to the week along with more gear reviews, interviews and just good old up to the minute outdoors news.

In the mean time, welcome back Richard, we've missed you :-)
