Loads Of Prizes Up For Grabs

Rumour has it that festival season is under way, what with Reading Festival, Leeds Festival, Notting Hill Carnival and of course Pendle Walking Festival:-), so we thought we'd go with the flow and give out a bumper haul of prizes on OUTDOORSmagic. We always have a competition or two up and running to help OM members on their way to a few freebies, but there's more on offer than usual...

We've all followed in the footsteps of Kev Reynolds, Dan Bailey & co at some point in our hiking lives, so we decided it was time to give away a few of their guidebooks. Cicerone Press have recently brought out a new title - Scotland's Mountain Ridges - and it's up for grabs in this competition, along with four other guidebooks of your choice. Incidentally, you can meet the author, Dan Bailey, at Lochaber Walking Festival in September. In the meantime, see if you can get your hands on one of his books for free here.

We normally give away gear on OUTDOORSmagic but the odd holiday or two does no harm. In this case, the Association of Austria’s Hiking Villages is giving away a weekend for two in the valley of the Groβarl, in the Hohe Tauern National Park, Salzburg. The offer includes three nights' accommodation and half board in some of Austria's most spectacular Alpine scenery. And finally, Bridgedale have been long-standing OUTDOORSmagic partners, as gallery-users will know, and they're now sponsoring a monthly outdoors photography competition. Last month's winner was Marcus Crompton, with his photo of Eilean Donan and this month Michael Sayles' photo of The Storr has stormed in to the lead.
