Everest Comes To Covent Garden

One of the members of the unsuccessful British Army, Everest West Ridge team will be lecturing at Ellis Brigham in Covent Garden later this month.

Captain Jonjo Knott will be talking about his participation in this spring's epic third attempt on one of Everest's hardest routes. In Everest West Ridge - 3rd Time Lucky he'll tell the story of the climb ftom the years of planning and innovations in training, to the hard work on the mountain, climbing on the north face itself, the successes and ultimately the disappointment when the team were forced to abandon the route high on the mountains because of avalanche danger.

The good news is that the event is free, but it's essential to pre-book a place by e-mail to events@ellis-brigham.com with the subject line 'Everest Talk'.

The evening takes place on 21 September at Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports,  3-11 Southampton St, Covent Garden, WC2E 7HA.

More details at www.ellis-brigham.com. If you want to do some background reading, the expedition's web site is still live at www.armyoneverest.mod.uk
