This week's fly-by viewing of the gallery is something of a world tour. Seven stops, five countries, four continents - hold on tight...
OK, so this first picture hasn't sprung from any far-flung parts of the globe - all journeys begin at home, and all that. What matters is how atmospheric it is. 'Beinh Damh Sunset' is one of only two photos in Martin Edwards' Wester Ross album but they're both pretty popular. The first - 'Wild Camping' - almost pipped Neil Higgins' 'Buttermere' on the line of last month's OUTDOORSmagic/Bridgedale photo competition. Better luck this month ...

Man on Stilts has travelled a fair few miles recently, all on his own two feet. He took on the GR5 and you can see his photos covering the full distance from Lake Geneva to Mont Blanc, GR5. They depict the full range of Alpine scenes - Alpine meadows, isolated refuges, rocky trails, waymarkers that rear out of the mist just when you think all is lost, and of course the Mont Blanc massif itself. Just one question: how did he cross the Col du Brevent on stilts?:-) It's a shame the photo of the month prize isn't a good sturdy pair of walking boots...

Time to head off to another continent, and this time it's one that isn't often covered in the OM gallery. There are plenty of Andean, Himalayan, and Alpine enthusiasts around, but not many people send us photos from ... wait for it ... Malawi. Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Kenya tend to dominate the African entry in the gallery. Instead, here's Mount Mulanje, Malawi, taken by Kamikaze Badger. Where did I put that atlas?:-)

Three continents down and you've probably already guessed which the last would be. The clue's even in the name - welcome to the South America Mountains and Lagunas album. As you'd expect, it's full of rugged peaks and water in both solid and liquid forms. Less expectedly, it's also home ot a bright red signboard - no prizes for guessing which route that was photographed on.

Finally, the OM gallery jet (the only carbon-neutral jet in the world) lands back on UK soil in time for a few moments' tranquillity before sunset. Neil Higgins has already won three pairs of Bridgedale socks in last month's competition, but here's his latest addition to the gallery anyway. 'Romanticide' - even google maps might not be onto that one. It comes from the album Dark Chest of Wonders, which sounds very mysterious, but at the moment there's just the one wonder inside. What will the next one be?
