After a couple of weeks of globe-trotting, we're staying closer to home in this week's gallery round-up. With one exception...
For Andrew Terrill, 'home' is in the US, so we're hopping across the big pond to find out how you follow the spectacular Maroon Bells Snowmass Wilderness September 2006 album. With style, it seems. Andrew describes this photo as a "view from the summit of one of my favorite runs, a grand 10-mile, 2,300 foot hill climb. It was taken on my run yesterday morning - not bad conditions for mid October!" Agreed. There's not much chance of the British hills looking like that in the next few weeks...
The photo's taken from Running, the album which Andrew's set up as a record of all OMers' fell running efforts. It's joined by 'Monstrous Mull', 'Buttermere Round' and a picture of the consequences if you don't manage to stay on your feet:-) Add your running efforts by selecting option three here.

Back to the greener scenes of 'home' for the rest of us ...
Richard Sun took an unplanned ramble that turned out well for his photo collection. He says: "Plan 'A' was Ben Lomond, but the cloud was down, so we made do with a saunter up Conic Hill." His album Peak Bagging and Wild Camping contains plenty of other great photos, including shots of icy wastes, a virtual scream - 'Aonach Eagaaaaaach!' - and the miracle of Helvellyn in both sunshine and snow at the same time:-)

Neil Higgins' photography is turning into a regular feature in the gallery round-up. Not only is his photo 'Romanticide' on top spot in the monthly photography competition, but he's uploaded some stunning photos of the Lakes recently as well. 'Kentmere' comes from the album Lakeland Memories Part 3 which has a watery theme, apart from this one photo. Fortunately the water's all in the lakes themselves, rather than drizzling down into them...

If anyone needs a fix of the seaside now that winter's coming on, there are plenty of options in the gallery at the moment. This photo comes from the (Sandwood) Baywatch album, along with a good helping of placid seas, sandy beaches, and some exciting sea stacks. That's our climbing plans for next summer sorted out ...

And finally, here's a photo with a difference. We get plenty of sweeping panoramas in the OM gallery, but not so many close ups like this one. Looks like we're missing out. Sarah Anderson's Random Pictures album is strong on unusual photos though - it's got everything from fox gloves to close ups of ice, snowdrops to mountain lakes, and a lot of life above the clouds...

That's it for this week. Remember, everyone has a free 3MB of space in the OM gallery to upload their latest mountain pics. If you want any inspiration about where to take them, try the Routes section - it's updated with a new walking or scrambling route each week. And if you want any tips from other OM members about where to go and what to wear, try the Forum. There are always plenty of walkers around who want to avoid their investment banking job and offer you their gems of walking wisdom instead:-)
